As we prepare for the next few shows by seeing the Oscar nominated films, I notice once again that some of them are over-rated and boring. The Acadamy either nominates films that they think they are supposed too because it makes the voting body seem like it has superior taste or they vote for crap that does not belong there because of publicity and "buzz". Now you will find in the upcoming episodes that we may like some of this years nominees, but they would not be my first choice of film to see to be entertained. Many are just downright depressing. I also think it is a crime that "Dark Knight" was not nominated for the simple reason that it was a superhero movie and the Academy can't be caught dead nominating a movie based on a comic book for best picture best picture. They would rather nominate crap like "Button".

I personally loved Slumdog Millionaire.
